Application of the EU General Data Protection Regulation
on the private homepage "Art & Engineering".

Initial Statement

As a visitor of my private homepage I welcome you as programmer and author of this homepage. With this privacy statement I would like to inform you about the nature, extent and purpose of the possible collection and use of personal data. Since my private homepage "Art & Engineering" does not pursue any commercial interests, does not use cookies and does not use neither Google Analytics nor Facebook's social media plugins, you are in a safe and unproblematic terrain on the Internet. The domain of my homepage https://ARTandENGINEERING.net is encrypted and surrounded by a secure shell (SSH). During your visit you cannot be watched by hackers on my homepage!

Of course, as a private homepage operator, I also take privacy very seriously and I will not pass personal data on to third parties without the consent of the respective person. Since new technologies and the constant development of my homepage require changes to this privacy statement and, for example, one or the other cookie application comes into effect, I recommend you to view the privacy statement at regular intervals with your homepage visit again.

Which data are collected?

1. Data from the contact forms included in the homepage.
2. Data for controlling a homepage counter.
3. Data for controlling a PHP calculator.
4. Data for controlling an encryption program.

As author of this homepage, due to my justified interest (see Art. 6 (1) lit., GDPR), I collect data about the homepage visit and save them as "server logfiles" on the server of the website. Supplementary explanation of the data storage for the enumeration 1 to 4:

To 1. The storage of the data is made for security reasons, e.g. to clarify cases of abuse. If data must be revoked for reasons of proof, they are excluded from the deletion until the incident has been finally clarified.

To 2. The self-developed homepage counter temporarily registers the IP address, the host name and the time of the visit, in order to count this visit only once if the homepage of the same visitor is called up several times during one and the same surfing session. The stored data will be automatically deleted after a definable number of visitors. These stored data will not be used otherwise.

To 3. Data are only buffered for the computation. The calculations cannot be watched by another user.

To 4. The encryption program works with a self-developed "Public & Private Key". The "public key" is the encryption program itself and the "private key" is determined by the user and overwritten with each new application or can be deleted from the caches at the end of program use.

The program modules for the applications 1 to 4 are intellectual property of the programmer and author of this homepage. The copying, another application of the modules outside the homepage "Art & Engineering" or the commercial use of the modules, is not permitted.

Handling contact data from the contact forms

If you contact me as the homepage operator via the offered contact forms, your details will be saved so that they can be used to process and answer your request. Without your consent, these data will not be disclosed to third parties.

Dealing with comments and contributions

If you leave a post or comment in a contact form on my homepage, your IP and e-mail address will be stored. This occurs on the basis of my legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR and serves for the safety of me as a homepage operator: Should your comment violate applicable law, I could possibly be prosecuted; therefore, the specified identity of the commentary or contribution author is saved.

If you believe that I have improperly processed your personal information, please contact me immediately before submitting a complaint to the appropriate regulatory body. All brand names and trademarks mentioned within this homepage and possibly protected by third parties are, of course, subject without restriction to the provisions of the respective valid trademark law and the ownership rights of the respective registered owners. "Internet Masquerade"

What does the picture of Carl Hofer have to do with the Internet? Nothing at first! Almost one hundred years ago, the Clown Masquerade was supposed to pull people out of the gloomy everyday life and convey them joy of life. The past cannot be compared to the present in which the Internet leads to tremendous upheavals in many areas of life. The digitalization of processes, the exchange of information in professional and private life have a major impact on our daily life. The Internet is becoming increasingly important and also serves to improve our standard of living. First of all, this is to be evaluated positively, were there not the negative aspects as well. The Internet is also a platform for fraud, extortion, coercion, violation of anonymity, damage to property, manipulation of people, the destruction of infrastructures and triggering of a cyber-war. Politics and the judiciary are overwhelmed with the matter and need support from the IT industry to get hold of the criminal acts behind the virtual mask of the Internet. Whether this will succeed is not certain yet.

The EU-GDPR is the first step to create more order behind the "Internet Masquerade"!
