The mechanical clock with perpetual calendar shows the time in hours, minutes and seconds, the day, the date, the month, the four-digit year and the right-sided representation of the moon for a viewer in the northern and southern hemisphere. At the indicated time, there was a full moon. The complex wheelwork of the clock has only after 577 years a deviation of the moon phase of one day, a correction is therefore not necessary for half a millennium. The setting of the calendar is done only via one crown. Different pushers for the respective functions are not needed. For the years 2200 to 2400 the century slider (19, 20 and 21) has to be exchanged with this of the centuries (22, 23 and 24). After the exchange the clock runs until 31. 12. 2499. The clock knows according to the Julian calendar every leap year. According to the Gregorian calendar, the 3 years 2100, 2200 and 2300 are not leap years, which makes a small wheel displacement of the watchmaker necessary, possibly combined with a service. |
